Motakondur Minor Forced To Marry 55 Year Old, Flees Home

Hyderabad: A minor from Motakondur fled from her parents to avoid getting married. The 15-year-old girl was pestered by her parents to marry a 55-year-old man. However, Alair police rescued the girl and shifted her to a rescue home.

In another such instance a minor from Maachireddygaripalle, fled the house to avoid the marriage and has come to a happy family.

The girl came to visit her mother in the Tummala Peta in Kalikiri mandal and went missing. After searching for three days, her parents complained to the police of her going missing on 6 Feb.

Police got a tip-off that the minor was present in YSR Kadapa district and they got her back. They later presented her before the Kalikiri magistrate Kula Shekar along with her parents. The girl revealed to the officials that she fled the house after her parents persisted to marry.

The officials reprimanded the parents of the girl that getting an individual married under the age of 18 is a crime and a punishable offense. They asked the parents to let her pursue her education. The student was handed over to her parents in the presence of the police.
