Kesamudram: Three members of a family who were depressed over their lands not being registered in the records attempted suicide. The incident took place on Monday at Tallapusapally village in Kesamudram Mandal of Mahabubabad district.

Vallala Ravikumar from the village cultivated the fields, he inherited from his father, Chandraiah who passed away seven years ago.

While he complained to the authorities regarding the passbooks not being issued for his land, Ravi Kumar got no response.

He received money from the government in two installments for 3.07 of his 3.12 acres land under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. However, since the rest of the land details were not in the records, Ravi Kumar approached the officials to conduct survey to identify the remaining five guntas of land and get the passbooks.

In this regard, Ravi Kumar, his sisters Rajamma and Lalitha repeatedly visited the Tahsildar and RDO offices for the past several days urging them to issue the pattadar passbooks.

With receiving no response from the authorities, Ravi Kumar attempted to consume pesticide which he had brought along with him. However, the Revenue Authorities stopped him and persuaded from taking the step. Depressed over their repeated efforts not yielding any solution, Ravi Kumar along with his sisters consumed the pesticide once they reached home. The locals rushed them to the Mahabubabad government hospital where they are undergoing treatment and their condition is said to be stable.
