Cow Dung Theft Lands Karnataka Govt Employee In Jail

Bengaluru: A Karnataka government employee was held for stealing of all the things imaginable, cow dung! The incident took place in Birur town in Chikkamagaluru district. The Animal Husbandry department of Birur lodged a complaint with the local police regarding cow dung theft of about 40 tractor loads. Farmers use cow dung in many ways in agricultural and horticultural activities.

The value of the stolen cow dung was estimated at Rs.1.25 lakhs. The police began inquiring into the incident and questioned a supervisor of the Animal Husbandry department in this regard. He was later arrested in the case.

The stolen cow dung was stored at a private place and the owner of the land was also named in the case booked by the police.
