Doctor Kills Driver, Chops His Body, Dissolves In Acid Over Illicit Affair With Wife

Madhya Pradesh: In a chilling and gruesome murder over an illicit affair and blackmail, a government doctor in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh killed his driver in a pre-meditated murder, to continue his illicit affair with victim's wife. Inspired by an American TV show which showed many concepts related to inorganic chemistry, acids, and its uses, he allegedly cut his body into over two dozen pieces and put them in a drum filled with acid to dissolve them.

Hoshangabad city superintendent of police Arvind Saxena said that the accused Dr Sunil Mantri (58), a doctor in a civil hospital was a widower. He has been living alone in his house for over two years now after his wife’s death and both his children live in Mumbai.

The victim Birendra Pachauri's (30) wife used to run a boutique with Dr Mantri's wife earlier and continued running it even after her death. Soon the accused developed illicit relations with the Birendra's wife and he soon got to know of it. He threatened the Doctor that he would expose him and there was also a possibility of blackmail, police said. As per the accused’s confession, he decided to eliminate Birendra and called him over to his house. The Doctor asked Birendra to work with him and stay with him so he would know that they were not having an affair.  When Birendra complained of tooth pain one day, the accused gave him a strong pain killer which made him drowsy and seeing him doze off, he cut the drivers throat with a knife and killed him. After that, he meticulously chopped his body into pieces with a saw he purchased and put the pieces in a drum filled with acid.

Now what gave him away was his agitated demeanor, when the suspicious neighbours saw him walk in and out of his house throughout Monday and Tuesday. The police were called and when they knocked on his door they saw him with a blood-stained shirt and as the searched his house they saw the drum filled with the body parts. The Doctor was arrested and confessed immediately to his crime.
