B.Tech Student Mowed Down By Truck In Bandlaguda

Nagole: In a horrific accident, a B.Tech student, Navyasri, (20) was mowed down by a lorry and was crushed to death, near Bandlaguda under L.B. Nagar police station limits. According to the police, the final year engineering student and her classmate, Sadhana (20) were going to their college, Shreyas Engineering College located near Thattianaram on a Honda Activa on Sunday on some work.

After going as far as Bandlaguda, they started to return thinking that Sunday being a holiday, no one would be there. Navyasri was sitting behind Sadhana who was riding the two-wheeler. When they reached Anand Nagar in Bandlaguda, a speeding truck hit the scooter from behind and Navyasri, who came under the lorry's rear wheels, was crushed to death.

Sadhana, who fell on the left side of the road, survived. L.B. Nagar police reached the spot and cleared the traffic. The victim's body was sent to Osmania Hospital and the lorry driver, Sajid, was taken into custody. Based on a complaint lodged by Sadhana, police are investigating the case.
