East Godavari Lovers Commit Suicide

Prathipadu: Navya and Anji Babu committed suicide by hanging themselves when they were alone on Friday evening at Lampakalova, Prathipadu, East Godavari district. They belong to the same caste, it is learnt.

According to the locals and police, the deceased Navya (17) completed her 10th class in 2017 and was staying at home. Her parents live in a another village to earn their livelihood. Navya lives along with her grandmother.

Kinthada Anji Babu (21) is a painter and electrician. Anji Babu and Navya were in love for the past one year. Anji Babu's parents learned of their love and asked Navya's parents to get them married. But they rejected the proposal. Depressed over the elders decision, they both hanged themselves in Navya's house. When her grandmother opened the doors, she found the two hanging. The locals informed the police who reached the spot and started investigation.
