Nellore School Girl Tortured Over Alleged Stolen Money 

Nellore: A 7th class girl student filed a complaint against her school teachers for making false allegations against her for stealing money. The victim Nandini is the elder daughter of Ravuru Ramanaiah and Munemma. She is pursuing her 7th standard at Sangam welfare girls school.

On December 7, school attender Bhuvaneswari asked Nandini to bring the attendence register. She bought the book and gave it to her. After some time, Bhuvaneswari went to the office room and questioned Nandini over Rs 19,600 missing from her handbag.

Nandini alleged that she didn't know about the money. School principal Matgarate, maths teacher Vijaya Lakshmi, NS teacher Vijaya, Naga Lalitha, Computer Operator Murali and attender Bhuvaneswari house arrested Nandini and beat her up. On December 21, they asked Nandini's parents to come to the school. When the teachers took the matter to her parents, they reasoned that if Nandini had stolen the money, it should be with her.

They sent Nandini's parents back and locked the girl up in a room where she was beaten up till noon. On December 22 evening, her parents came to the school. The school management asked them to pay Rs 20,000 and take the girl. They pleaded to leave the girl saying that they were daily wage labourers. They paid Rs 5,000 to Bhuvanewari and got the girl relieved. The victim and her parents approached Sangam police and asked the inspector take severe action against the teachers.
