Hyderabad: Rachakonda Commisioner of Police Mahesh Bhagavat revealed the overall cases filed in the year 2018. He said that about 20,820 cases have been filed under the limits of Rachakonda police commissionerate. On Saturday, during a pressmeet, he spoke about some of the sensational cases during 2018.

Theft Cases: 2664

Mahesh Bhagavat said that 2664 theft cases were filed under the limits of Rachakonda commissionerate. In Yadadri, 36 minor girls were rescued from brothel houses. In this case, PD Act was filed against 12 girls and 29 members involved in prostitution. Five doctors were arrested for Gender Diagnosis case. The police also solved 5250 cases of Lok Adalat. 12,263 cases were filed while 3,496 were arrested and 12 of them were sentenced for life. 46 child marriages were stopped by the Rachakonda police. 516 eve-teasing cases were filed by SHE teams, said the commissioner.

Uppal Human Sacrifice Case:

Rajasekhar and his wife Sri Latha who were involved in the sensational human sacrifice case in Hyderabad were arrested. The case was cracked based on DNA evidence.

Musi Incident:

During the Tractor accident that occured at Valigonda Musi river, 15 people were died and 6 sustained injuries. The tractor driver was arrested after investiagaion revealed that the accident was caused due to the negligence of a driver.

2018 Rachakonda Road Accidents:

2,773 road accidents took place in Rachakonda in which 694 people were killed. 20 members were killed in 34 accidents on the outer ring road, the CP said.

Drunk and Drive Cases:

In 2018, a total of 5,692 drunk and drive cases were filed in which 5,002 cases were during the day light and 690 cases were filed at night. Rs 93 lakhs were collected in the form of Challans. 897 people were sentenced. 24,425 petty cases were filed in 2018.

Operation Smile:

530 children were rescued in the name of Operation Smile. They were identified as natives of Odisha, Bihar, Assom, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

Drugs:

63 people were arrested in 30 cases of illegal transportation of Ganja in 2018. 548 kgs Ganja, 10 gms of Cocaine and 20 gms of Heroin were seized from them. 11 vehicles were also seized regarding this case.

Cheddy Gang:

There are 29 cases filed against Cheddy gang in which 23 members involved in the gang were arrested.
