West Godavari (Jangareddy Gudem): Vallepu Yerraiah (45) a labour contractor for brick kilns was found murdered in Jangareddy Gudem in West Godavari distrcit.

On November 26, he went to Jalleru lake and didn't return home. His wife filed a missing complaint on November 27 with the police. Upon searching the area they found his dead body at Jalleru lake the next day.

SI Allu Durga Rao examined the place of incident and filed a case of suspicious death and started investigation.

Based on the post-mortem report strangling marks and other wounds were found on the dead body, the police declared it was a murder and changed the suspicious case into a murder case on December 16.

Based on their investigation the police said the deceased a labour supplier to brick manufacturers used to take the advance from the owners of brick factories and appointed daily wage labourers for the work. Recently, he took Four Lakh Rupees advance from the owners of Nuziveedu brick factory and appointed Makkela Shankar Alias Srinu, Modiam Venkatesewara Rao alias Venky, Bandi Rambabu, Soyam Suresh and Tammisetti Arjun to come and work there.

Yerraiah gave them Four Lakh Rupees as an advance. But when they didn't turn up for work, he questioned them and asked to pay back the advance.

Nursing a grudge against him they hatched a plan to kill him. According to the plan, they asked Yerraiah to come to a wine shop near Jalleru lake on the pretext of returning the advance amount. They made him drink alcohol till he was completely inebriated and took him to a desolate place where they first beat him and then strangled him. After he became unconscious they drowned him in the lake. After that when they found the blood stains on their clothes, they burnt them at the Vegavaram village, the police said.

The truth was revealed when the police took Shankar, Venkateswara Rao and Arjun into custody and interrogated them. The police arrested them on Tuesday and produced them before the court. Rambabu and Suresh were absconding and police have deployed search teams to nab them, the police said.
