Bangalore: A man set his mother on fire for refusing money to buy alcohol. The incident took place in Bangalore. The victim was sent to a hospital for treatment. The victim and her son lived in Sadasiva Nagar along with her husband. The accused Uttam Kumar (20) was an alcohol addict and would often harass his mother for money.

An argument broke out between the duo when the accused demanded money for alcohol. His mother refused to give him money and in a fit of rage Uttam doused petrol on his mother. The victim's husband rescued her and rushed her to a hospital. She suffered burn injuries on her face, hands and the chest, it is learnt. The police said that the accused is now absconding. A case was filed against him and hunt is on to nab the criminal.

Meanwhile, in a similar incident in Bengaluru, a son hit his mother after he was reprimanded by her for his bad behavior. This incident happened in the Chennamanakere Achukattu police station in Banashankari. According to reports, Jeevan (19), a degree student had fallen prey to bad habits .

The accused wanted his girl friend and friends to treat him like a hero. Jeevan invited his girl friend to his residence and smoked cigarettes in front of his mother. He even bunked college and went around with his girl friend. Fed up with his behaviour Jeevan’s mother had warned him about his future, this irked Jeevan who hurled at her, took a broomstick and hit his mother and warned her not to interfere with his life.

A family member recorded the video and uploaded it online. The video went viral and police who saw the clip took up the case as suo moto and filed a criminal case against Jeevan. His mother also asked the police to save her from Jeevan and teach him a lesson.
