Hyderabad Police Collected 31 Lakhs Fine From Drunk Drivers In October

Hyderabad: Drunk and drive cases are on the rise in Hyderabad. In the month of October, a total of 1426 drunken driving cases were booked and 449 of them were jailed by local courts, according to latest report. The license of 10 violators have been permanently cancelled.

According to the police, 184 members were jailed for two days and another five people were jailed for a month. The driving license of 69 people were suspended temporarily. The Nampally Metropolitan Magistrate court has imposed Rs 31 lakhs in fine on the remaining 977 traffic violators. The candidates who were sentenced for imprisonment were sent to Chanchalguda jail.

ACP Traffic, Anil Kumar said, "Those who are convicted for drunken driving may not get government jobs, passport and Visa. the police sent the violaters to TTI (Goshamal and Begumpet) for counseling."
