Hyderabad: A woman allegedly poured hot cooking oil on her husband's body in a fit of rage. The incident took place in the limits of Kukatpally police station.

According to SI, J Narayan Singh, Kumar Chowdary (32) and Prem Devi got married in 2006. The couple had two children. The victim was into jewellery business which was in losses. Unable to bare the financial expenses, Kumar suggested that they move in to his father's house. But Devi was not comfortable staying at her in-law's home. The couple developed differences over this for some time. Kumar Chowdary had been spending more time at his father's place post his fights.

An enraged Devi decided to punish her husband for staying away from her. On Sunday he came home and went to sleep. Devi poured hot oil on Kumar's body because of which he received 45% burn injuries and was soon admitted to a private hospital. The doctors declared that he was out of danger and the police filed an attempt to murder case against the woman and a probe is on.

Similarly, A 22-year-old man lost almost half of his tongue after his pregnant wife deliberately bit it off while kissing him, the police said.

The incident was reported from outer Delhi's Ranhola.

Locals said that the woman was not happy as she felt her husband was not good-looking.

However, the couple had compatibility issues and had regular fights, the police said, adding the husband is a street artiste.

He had an altercation with his 22-year-old pregnant wife and they later patched up. And the next time she kissed him she bit almost half of his tongue off, they added.

The police were informed by the victim's father about the incident.
