Depressed, Childless Woman Commits Suicide

Srikakulam: A woman committed suicide over not having children. The incident took place on Wednesday at Kasibugga. According to the locals and police, the deceased Naga Venkata Kanaka Durga (33) and Venkata Satyanarayana got married 11 years back. They lived in Eluru for some time and later moved to Palasa two years ago.

There were frequent quarrels between them over not having children. On Wednesday morning, her husband found his wife was hanging to a fan. Immediately they informed the police and the locals. The police seized a suicide note written by Durga.

The body was shifted to the Palasa government hospital for autopsy. Based on a complaint given by the Satyanarayana, the police filed a case.

In the suicide note, Durga mentioned that she felt depressed over being childless and committed suicide. "The in-laws are very good and nobody is the cause of my death," she added.

But a case of suspicious death was registered police started probing the matter. They also doubted the veracity of the suicide letter.
