Vikarabad: A suspicious death of a girl student took place on Tuesday at Vikarabad. According to the victim's family members and the police, Sirisha and Manisha are sisters pursuing their Intermediate at Gautami Junoir college. Manisha joined the hostel two months ago. In the early hours of Tuesday at 5 AM, she went to the toilet around the time that the study hours begin every day, according to the victim's sister and students.

Sirisha and other students started looking for Manisha when they found that she was not in hostel and informed the hostel warden. At 6 AM, they found Manisha lying dead in the area behind the hostel. The hostel staff shifted her to the Vikarabad government hospital where she died later.

The student associations learned of Manisha's death and protested in front of the college. The death appeared mysterious as she had no injuries on her body. The staff said that she fell down from the building which deepened the mystery. Manisha was under academic pressure and was driven to suicide, student associations alleged. They also asked how Manisha was shifted to the hospital without informing the police.

Senior police officials visited the spot and started investigating the case. They checked the victim's room in the hostel and interrogated the students. Manisha's father Manik Reddy demanded a thorough investigation into his daughter's death. Police have taken up the investigation and will reveal the full details after receiving the postmortem report.
