Vijayawada: A case was registered against a man for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl and filming the act. The incident took place at Tenarpet of Vijayawada under Kothapet police station limits.

Getting into details, the victim who lost her parents was staying with her elder brother at a nearby school in Tenarpet. The girl met the accused P Lakshman at her school grounds where he would come to play cricket frequently. Days after, the duo exchanged their numbers and began communicating. Lakshman also invited the girl to his home saying that he would introduce her to his parents.

Trusting him, the girl went to his house who was offered a cool drink laced with sleeping pills. When the girl inquired about the parents, the accused said that they had gone out and will reach home soon.

After she fell unconscious, the accused sexually assaulted her and shot the act on his phone. Later, he threatened to post the images on social media if she revealed the matter to anyone. He also promised to marry her adding that he loves her.

A few months later, when the girl reminded him about marriage, the accused went absconding. Based on a complaint filed by the girl, the police registered a case and launched a hunt to nab him.
