Actress Dropped From TV Series For Rejecting Director’s Sexual Advances

In a sensational revelation, Malayalam television actor Nisha Sarangh, popularly known
for her lead role in Kerala's most watched serial, Uppum Mulakum, accused director R Unnikrishnan of sexual harassment, in a recent interview. Without any notice, I was removed from the show, she said. The director took revenge against me for ignoring his advances and for complaining to the channel management, she added.

The actress said she never replied to director's inappropriate text messages. He tried to spread false stories against me in the media, she pointed out.

"On several occasions, I was ridiculed on the sets," she remarked. Several organizations, including the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) and Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) have extended their support to the actress.
