Classy team India opener, Rohit Sharma could overtake swashbuckling West Indian batsman, Chris Gayle's record of hitting most sixes in T-20s in the first T-20 encounter of the upcoming series between the two sides on Saturday. Rohit Sharma has 102 sixes from 94 T-20 matches and is third behind Martin Guptill of New Zealand (103 from 76 matches) and Chris Gayle at the top with 105 sixes from 58 T-20 appearances. The West Indian legend will not be playing in the three T-20 matches scheduled for this series, but will represent West Indies in the ODIs. This gives Rohit Sharma a clear opportunity to get past Chris Gayle's record.
Meanwhile, Windies all-rounder Andre Russell was ruled out of the T-20 side against team India. He was replaced by Jason Mohammed for the first two matches of the three ODI matches to be played between the two sides. Thirty-two year-old Jason Mohammed has played 9 T20 international matches and has also led the West Indies side in T20s and ODIs.West Indies are the current ICC World T20 champions.
