Cops play hide-and-seek as MLA's son involved in hit-and-run case

Here's another VIP son flouting traffic rules and resorting to rash driving causing death of a youth. Usually, it's Hyderabad that is in news, but Guntur.

Yadlapadu Police in Guntur district registered cases on the car race incident . Cases were registered against seven persons under sections 304 (A) and 337. Among those booked is Siddartha, the son of Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao.

The vehicles were driven at breakneck speed and due to the rash driving an engineering student identified as Nagendra (22) was killed and some more were injured. The whereabouts of the injured are not known and it is alleged that the VIP could have played a key role in their vanishing act.

The mishap occured at Timmapuram village of Yadlapadu mandal in Guntur district on Sunday night. Eight persons were also injured in the incident.

This is not the first time that the son of the MLA participating in car races. Earlier, Siddartha was then arrested and he was taken into custody by the police for the same kind of offence. But, he was released later as the MLA used his influence and ensured the release of his son.
