Cops obstruct YSRCP bandh, public support party

The government is making every attempt to obstruct the bandh called by YSRC party. The shutdown was called to protest against the government's failure to act on the power cuts. Police are hand in glove with the government to scare YSR Congress party leaders and members.

A number of YSR Congress leaders and workers from several districts were taken into custody last night itself in view of the state-wide bandh call given by the party against the Andhra Pradesh government's failure to resolve power crisis.

Police did not stop there. They have even gone to the extent of threatening saying that participating parties will be liable for non-bailable arrest. Earlier in the day, the police tried to stop YSR Congress leaders from entering the streets. However, the YSRCP members were undeterred.
The police has also taken over 15 leaders and party supporters into custody at around 11.15 pm at Macharla mandal in Guntur district.
The police has also sent telephonic instructions to industries asking them not to extend their support for the bandh.
The government is trying hard to obstruct the bandh. When the protester tried to stop a APSRTC bus, the police intervened and let it go. The government's inner agenda is to let transport be normal so as to prevent the success of the bandh.
However, the YSRCP leaders have gone ahead and stopped many a APSRTC buses in many districts. At some places, many shop owners shut their shops to support the bandh.
Interestingly yet, although the police joined hands to make the bandh a failure, the public has come out pledging their full support to YSRCP to make the bandh successful. They believe the bandh is in the best interest of the common man.
