Cop Asks For Sexual Favour From Gangrape Victim Before Taking Action 

Rampur: In a shocking incident, a police officer has asked a rape victim to sleep with him before he takes action against the accused. The incident came to light in Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday when 37-year-old rape survivor, who was sexually assaulted by two men, approached cops in Ganj police station. The Investigating Officer (IO) at the police station sought sexual favour from the victim in return for taking serious action.

After refusing to oblige with him, the officer gave a shock to her by filing a closure report. The victim came for the second time only to record the conversation with the officer. She later went to the SP with the evidence and lodged a complaint. The SP ordered an inquiry against the IO.

On February 21 this year, two men —55-year-old Ameer Ahmad and 45-year-old Sattar Ahmad gave a lift to the victim to drop her at her house when she was returning alone to Rampur city after visiting a relative's house. The accused dropped her at house. Learning that there is no one at her house, the two men raped her at gunpoint.
