A day after PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana said that 30 Congress members were ready to deflect, the count rose to 70 by Saturday.
Speaking to reporters in Vijayawada, Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal said that not 30 but as many as 70 MLAs and 12 MPs will quit the party if the bifurcation process is not stopped.
He added that, Congress will not get even one seat in either Telangana or Andhra regions if state was divided. Stating that the division issue has now reached the final stage, Lagadapati pointed out that without an assembly resolution the division will not take place.
Supporting former minister JC Diwakar Reddy, Lagadapati said that JC has been expressing his opinion on the bifurcation but no one understood him.
