Congress opposes Naidu's move to rename Hyd airport after NTR

Congress leaders have started opposing Telugu Desam president, N. Chandrababu Naidu's plan of renaming of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport into NTR International Airport.

Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao warned that they will not sit quiet  if the name of the airport is changed.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, VH advised the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister in waiting to refrain from hurting the sentiments of Congress leaders.

Paying tributes to NTR on his 91st birth anniversary at the party’s annual conference, Mahanadu, Chandrababu vowed to change the name of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. He also said that he would exert pressure on the Centre to rename the airport after NTR.

Joining the chorus, another senior Congress leader and former PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana also found fault with  Naidu's ambition of changing the name.  If that is the case very five years airports' names have to be changed, he said.

He advised Chandrababu to change the name of Gannavaram airport after NTR or name the three airports that are coming in Andhra Pradesh after the actor.
