Congress leaders leave for Delhi to demand special status to AP

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee leaders, including its president N. Raghuveera Reddy, left for New Delhi on Saturday morning from Visakhapatnam railway station. They would organise a protest in New Delhi demanding special status to Andhra Pradesh.

They have also collected over a crore signatures in support of their demand, which they would present to the Prime Minister and demand that all the promises made to the state at the time of the bifurcation be fulfilled.

The agitation will be held on 14, 15 and 16 of this month.

Earlier, the Congress leaders led by N. Raghuveera Reddy were given a rousing welcome at the railway station. Women offered them harathi before boarding the train.
Party workers gathered in big numbers at stations like Anakapalli, Rajamahendavaram, Tadepalligudem and Eluru to greet them.
