Congress Leader Killed Over Old Rivalries 

Kothagudem: A Congress party leader was killed by a group of unknown assailants on Friday morning at Annapureddypally.

Vemulawada Srinivas, a native of Erragunta was attacked by four people while he was having a breakfast at Ayyappa Hotel in the village. The assailants peppar sprayed the victim and chased him when he was trying to run away. The attackers ran after him and killed him with sickles.

"This was the second attack, earlier the leader complained of an attack on him," a police officer said. The police also suspected that it might be an old feud which led to the death of the congress leader.

The police launched a hunt to nab the attackers who went absconding after the murder.
