Congress, MIM flay Viqaruddin's encounter

Clamour is growing over the Alair encounter of Tuesday, in which dreaded terrorist Viqaruddin and four others were shot dead when they tried to attack the cops.

All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi demanded a probe by a sitting High Court judge into the encounter. Owaisi even called the act as extra-judicial retaliatory killings by police He released a statement on Tuesday evening saying "Police seemed to be on a retaliatory killing spree by gunning down undertrial prisoners to avenge the Suryapet incident".
Congress senior leader Digvijay Singh too raised questions over the encounter and said the Alair encounter was very similar to the Gujarat fake encounter. He felt the undertrial prisoners were killed as per a clear-cut plan.
Condemning the killing of five alleged terror operatives, Vikaruddhin's father Ahmed said the police took revenge of Suryapet firing on his son. While speaking to Media after his son's death, he said "There is no chance of their escaping from the police. This is a plot by the police to eliminate him. This is what we think at this moment. We want justice. We demand that whoever was involved in his murder (encounter) should be punished. Let the courts decide if he is guilty. Whatever the court decides, even if it is a death sentence, we will accept, but not killings by the police."
