Cong-TDP behind forceful end of Vijayamma's fast: Jupudi

Congress, TDP parties have joined hands to hatch a conspiracy to stop YSRCP honorary president, YS Vijayamma's hunger strike, said YSRCP official spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao on Saturday.

It's worth mentioning here that Vijayamma went on an indefinite hunger strike opposing the Congress' unilateral decision to carve out Telangana state

He expressed anger at the way Vijayamma was whisked away by the police at midnight yesterday. “We condemn the highhandedness of the police in foiling the indefinite fast of YS Vijayamma and the manner in which she was taken to the government hospital and we will continue to fight for demand of maintaining status quo if the Centre cannot do justice to all regions,” Jupudi said.

Slamming police for shifting Vijayamma in a police van, Jupudi questioned why an ambulance could not be arranged by the government.

He made it clear that only YSRCP is fighting for the equal justice for all the regions and other parties are behaving like a cat on the wall.

“We wanted the Centre to do justice to all regions and see to it that no region is put to disadvantage before bifurcating the state and if that cannot be done, the UPA has no right to bifurcate the state,” he added.

He maintained that it was the public who started the Samaikyandhra movement.
