'Cong needs newspaper, TV channel'

Former Assembly speaker Suresh Reddy opined that the Congress Party suffered a defeat in the recent elections because it did not have a vehicle to popularise its achievements.

Speaking at the Telangana Congress meeting at Ibrahimpatnam in Hyderabad on Monday, he said that it would be better if Congress Party had its own TV channel and news paper. “Every party worker should donate Rs.1000 for establishing a TV channel. I also feel it is important to set up a social media cell in the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. All party leaders must be active on social media,” said Suresh Reddy.

Speaking at the meeting, the former minister J.Geeta Reddy said that SCs and STs must be given enough preference in the party posts.

She demanded a special wing in the party to study the issues related to the implementation of SC,ST sub-plan. She also wanted the party to fight for reservations for SC and ST persons in private sector too.
