Cong mulling Rajaiah's suspension?

Will Congress suspend Sircilla Rajaiah? This is the question that is being hotly debated within the Congress circles.   Sources say, the ghastly death of his estranged daughter-in-law and her three children a day before he was to file papers for the Warangal Lok Sabha bypolls has shaken the party to the core. Though it replaced him with Sarve Satyanarayana at the candidate, the party leaders feel that the death and the aftermath, in which the former MP, his wife and son were arrested, would hit the party's prospects in the bypolls.    Congress leaders feel that the agitation by women's organisations and the general negative feelings generated by the incident would hit the Congress badly. Hence, they feel Rajaiah should be suspended from the party to control the damage. "If no action is taken against Rajaiah, it would be interpreted as Congress Party's tacit backing of the ex-MP," opined a party worker.   However, the district unit has to send a report to the Pradesh Congress Committee and the PCC has to refer the issue to the disciplinary Committee, based on whose recommendations, the PCC will take an action. No report has yet been sent by the DCC, sources said. It is likely that the party would soon seek a report from the DCC on the incident.
