Cong MPs’ pleads with Antony for addition gas

Congress MPs from the State called on Union Minister A K Antony on Wednesday and pleaded for remedy to the severe power crisis in the State.

They said agriculture sector was badly hit with the power cuts and the rural areas were facing acute shortage of power. Since the gap between power supply and demand was increasing, the Government was short of 3000 MW of power. They requested for allocation of additional gas from the KG basis to contain the power problems to some extent. MPs Harshakumar from Rajahmundry, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao from Eluru, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao from Guntur, Ananta Venkatrami Reddy from Anantapur, MA Khan and KVP Ramachandra Rao were among those who met the Union Minister.
