Cong, NCP won't get more than 10 seats each: PM Modi

"This is the final exam of the Congress and NCP. This poll is not about who wins or loses. But this poll will decide the fate of Mumbai and Maharashtra, he said. The type of government you got in Maharashtra and the way it looted you, it destroyed two generations. What does Mumbai and Maharashtra want? You must have noticed now what a good government can do, he said. Do you feel things are different? Does not your chest swell with pride with the response India is now getting in the global arena."

Describing the October 15 Maharashtra Assembly polls as Congress and NCP's final exam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday predicted that both the parties will get only 10 seats each. The NCP clock symbol indicates that only 10 legislators each of NCP and Congress will be there now, Modi said while addressing a poll rally in Mumbai's northern suburb Borivali tonight. Does not your chest swell with pride with the response India is now getting in the global arena," Modi said referring to his recent US visit.

"You may not have anything in your pockets in the last five months, but you know that the country is going in the right direction in these five months, he said. I have seen Delhi nicely in these five months. I know which keys are needed and which ones are missing," he said. "If there is no development, there cannot be job creation. If there is no foreign investment there cannot be job creation," he said.

If you ensure a BJP government in Maharashtra with full majority it will have a share in the 100 billion promised foreign investment, he said. The government has decided to bring in 100 per cent FDI in railways to improve the rail network services, he said.

In 2022, when India celebrates 75 years of independence, there should not be a single family which does not have a house of its own. This is my dream, he said. Be it even your smallest work, I will provide my party activists to you in 24 hours, he said.

Politicians have blessed goondaism. You have the power to get rid of this goondagiri. For that you just have to press the lotus symbol on October 15. Give Maharashtra a government with full majority. "I know what happens when you have a government with full majority, he said. The fact that India is shining on global stage is not due to Modi's charisma, but thanks to the backing of 125 crore people. I read on the internet that Congress and NCP leaders were asking why is Modi coming to campaign in Maharashtra. They are afraid of this sea of humanity, "PM said.

"We will get full majority in Maharashtra and Haryana. People will do it with full faith in us, he said adding, If those who looted you are elected they will be free to indulge in more corruption. Will you want to do this? These polls should be the yagna of political purification. Send the sinners home," PM added.

In the Lok Sabha polls, Mumbai saw a low voter turnout which was criticised in country. Now in this poll it is time to register maximum voting, Modi said. RPI leader Ramdas Athawale said there are reports that the estranged Thackeray cousins (Uddhav and Raj) may come together, but it was not a matter of concern for the BJP-led alliance which is sure to form the next government in Maharashtra.

BJP MP from North Mumbai Gopal Shetty, who was instrumental in naming this evening's rally ground after late Bal Thackeray, said he was confident that the BJP government will complete Mumbai s pending infrastructure projects.

Senior state BJP leader Vinod Tawde flayed NCP leader R R Patil over his remarks on rape. Women in Maharashtra should demand that they won't vote for NCP till it expels Patil for his atrocious remarks, Tawde said.

Patil had said yesterday that an MNS candidate jailed for rape could have waited for elections to get over before committing the crime. Can anyone call Modi as Afzal Khan? Tawde said, without naming Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray. Do Vasundhara Raje and Anandiben (Patel) look like they are members of the Afzal Khan gang, he said.
