Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's hasty decision in awarding the Polavaram irrigation project tenders to Transstroy-JES UES consortium has drawn ire from Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The High Court on Monday asked the government as to how it had signed on the agreement with Transstroy while the matter was still pending in the court.
The court also admitted the Soma Constructions' petition that challenged the government's decision to award to tender bid to Transstroy, which quoted lowest bid. The court has adjourned the hearing of the caae to next week.
It may be recalled that Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday gave his nod for the tenders in favour of Transstroy (India) Ltd for Polavaram project works as per the recommendations of the high power committee.
The committee submitted its report favouring the bid to to L-1 Transstroy (India) Ltd. The contract is worth around 4,717 crore for the Polavaram Indirasagar Project execution.
