CM leaving for Delhi tomorrow

Amid speculation of a possible change of guard in the State, Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy is going to New Delhi tomorrow.

Though circles close to the Chief Minister claimed today that Kirankumar Reddy is going to Delhi only to get the Congress High Command’s nod for filling up of the nominated posts, his detractors are, however, say that there is a possibility of the Delhi leadership taking a decision to replace Kirankumar Reddy.

“That the Chief Minister’s trip to Delhi coming close after the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit Hyderabad is enough to read between the lines,” a highly placed source in the State unit of the Congress commented. The Prime Minister might have alerted him about the possible changes in the State and thus he is now rushing to Delhi, the source felt. With the inauspicious ‘Dhanurmasam’ coming to an end today, there is every possibility of the High Command taking a decision, the source observed.

However, sources close to the Chief Minister said that Kirankumar Reddy has emerged strong in the recent past and that there is no possibility of any change now. “The Centre will not think of any change of guard now. Kiran has, in fact, grown stronger. He is now closer to the hearts of the High Command,” the source maintained. He is going to Delhi only to take the permission to fill the vacant nominated posts in the State and sort out other issues, the source observed.
