CM apologises to those injured in AP Bhavan mishap

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Friday tendered unconditional apology to those injured during the AP Bhavan incident.

According to reports, he called Ministers DK Aruna, Geeta Reddy and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and apologised, over phone.

On Thursday, the CM held 'silent protest' at Jantar Mantar, Delhi against the bifurcation of AP. However, during the dharna, fights broke out between Telangana and Seemandhra supporters and in the ensuing melee, Aruna, Geeta and Sunitha were allegedly manhandled by the security personnel.

Narrating the incident, Geeta broke down. "We had gone to meet the Chief Minister at Andhra Bhavan. We wanted to request him not to go to Jantar Mantar, as anti-Telangana protests were going on. But security personnel present there misbehaved and manhandled us and all this happened in the CM's presence," Reddy said here.

She alleged the CM was a mute spectator when security men were pushing the delegation that had gone to meet him.

"I was pushed and injured. But the CM, who was watchinga ll this from inside of a bus, did not intervene," she said.
