Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party National General Secretary and MP V Vijayasai Reddy accused the civil servants - IAS and IPS officers - that in the state of Andhra Pradesh they were working for the ruling TDP. The TDP was fearing that they might lose the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and was trying to use all its might and machinery to win over YSRCP candidate, he said.

The YSRCP Leader spoke at the inauguration of new party office in the city. He mentioned that we have seen politicians and ministers shifting party affiliations, but in this state we were witnessing the loyalties of civil servants bending towards the TDP. "Principal Secretary Satish Chandra and Additional DG Venkateswarlu are behaving like TDP leaders, while they were supposed to serve people despite changes in ruling parties," he observed.

During the occasion, Vijayasai Reddy informed that the party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has approved the candidature of Vemureddi Prabhakar Reddy as YSRCP candidate for upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. He introduced the candidate to all the party workers and told them that the TDP was desperately trying to woo 44 MLAs to win the elections. He alleged that minister Kala Venkat Rao was requesting the YSRCP MLAs to switch over to the TDP.

The government had announced they have got investments to state worth Rs 15.50 Lakh Crores through Partnership Summit, Rs 20 Lakh Crores from China, Rs 10 Lakh Crores from Singapore and another Rs 10 Lakh Crores from Davos, he pointed out that this was the reason for centre to ignore allocating funds to the state in the Union Budget.

MP Vijayasai Reddy slammed the government for ignoring social welfare department and making it virtually non-functional in the state. He alleged that 786 SC hostels have been shut down in the state and this has resulted in 46,000 students being shifted to different places. He pointed out that about 70 per cent of students did not go and have dropped out of schools. Similarly, the government was planning to shut down another 759 hostels which would put 71,000 students in problem, he informed.

He called upon the YSRCP senior leaders like Botsa Satyanaraya to inform the people about the sacrifices that the party MPs were ready to make for the state by quitting their posts.
