City commuters rejoice over repair of pits on roads within 20 hours

Hyderabad:  Have you spotted any pit on the city roads and complained the same to the concerned authorities? Then, you need not wait for the solution and not to worry about officials’ indifference to the problem or stonewalling or lukewarm response from the authorities. Because, Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) B Janardhan Reddy assured the civic people that any pits or gorges or any other road damages would be repaired and resolved within the span of 20 hours from the time of complaint received and the city’s civic body has been also proving the same.

GHMC Commissioner held a review meeting with the Engineering department officials over the condition of roads in the city on Monday. Briefing about the development, he said, all the pits on the city roads have been repaired within the period of 20 hours since the time of complaint we receive. He said, as of now, closely 12,000 pits within a week and 22,154 pits since June 7 had been repaired. ‘Immediate repair teams’ would be available round the clock to resolve the road problems and any other inconveniences for commuters.

The Commissioner said that the Assistant Engineers are getting the information daily about the pits and inconveniences on the roads from My GHMC App, GHMC Call Centre and SFAs and are taking up the repair works within a day on war footing to avoid the inconvenience to the city people. As many as 90-100 trips of bitumen is being used for the refurbishment of the roads, he said, adding, Cold Emulsion Liquid was also been mixed for the repair of BT roads.
