Cherlapally Jail turns wedding venue for inmate's daughter

Jails are synonymous with grief, broken dreams, anger, hatred, and is devoid of any semblance of happiness. But on Sunday, the inmates of Cherlapally Central Jail, Hyderabad saw the infusing of gaiety and celebration into their morose, forlorn looking jail building, when the latter turned into a wedding venue.

As per reports, daughter of one of the inmates, Sambayya who is doing time for murdering his wife, wanted to tie the knot in the presence of her father. Since her father could not leave the jail, she decided to bring the wedding party to the jail.

Gayatri, the bride's marriage to Nagarjuna, was decided by the NGO run home she stays in Moulalai. Considering that Nagarjuna, the groom, is also an orphan the NGO decided to play cupid between the two.

However, Gayatri was adamant that she will get married only in the presence of her father. The NGO took the request to Charlapally jail officials. The police personnel not only agreed but also helped in the arrangements.

Finally, Gayatri got married to Nagaraju in the presence of her father and police officials. An emotional Sambayya blessed the couple.

Reportedly this is the first time a wedding took place in the jail premises.
