Cheated woman protests outside former lover's home

Determined to right the wrong perpetrated on her, a pregnant woman launched a protest in front of the home of the person who conned her on the pretext of loving her.

The woman, Upparapalli Rajani (25) of Siddipet fell in love with one Pilli Srikanth (28) of Samudrala in Karimnagar. He lured her into pre-marital sex on the promise of marrying her. However, he backtracked after she became pregnant. He and his family members simply scooted out the village.

Rajani, who lodged a complaint with the police, sat on dharna in front of the locked doors of Srikanth's home. A few women's organisations are backing her in her fight. They even staged a rasta roko on Siddipet Road.

However, on the assurance of the police CI that he would ensure justice for her, Rajani ended her fast.
