Warangal: Deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari was shocked on Friday when a farmer threw footwear at him.
Kadiyam was campaigning for TRS candidate Dayakar in Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll in Sayampet village.
The farmer, picked up an argument with Kadiyam over non-declaring of remunerative price for cotton and in a fit of rage threw his chappals on him. However, they missed the deputy chief minister.
The police moved in swiftly and over powered the farmer.
Warangal is going for bypoll as Kadiyam, who was an MP, resigned to join the TRS cabinet in Telangana state.
