New Delhi: Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar said that the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Bill 2014 was passed when large scale protests were being held in the Parliament. He recalled that the Bill was passed behind closed doors of the House which was attended by many BJP leaders including present Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. Why is the BJP which promised to do justice to the state at the time of bifurcation is now neglecting the issue, he asked.

Undavalli, speaking to the media here today, expressed his surprise over BJP's attitude of evading a discussion on no-confidence motion in Parliament, despite being sure that it would be a failure. He called upon the Speaker to intervene and ensure the discussion is held in the House.

The former Rajahmundry MP said that on earlier occasions, the Speaker had suspended members of the House who had repeatedly walked into the well. If such stern measures was adopted the AIADMK MPs would become silent, he pointed out. "BJP is not interested in allowing a discussion on no-confidence, and this is the reason I have filed a case in the court saying AP Bifurcation Bill 2014 was passed behind closed doors of the House," he asserted.

He suggested that Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu could file a counter on the petition filed by me. Undavalli mentioned that people should forget their individual political gain and work for the development of the state. Chandrababu should immediately change his attitude and start working for the state, he added.
