Chandrababu's popularity nose-diving: YS Jagan

Giving a clarion call to the cadre to highlight the failures of the TDP Government, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said YSR Congress will voice the concerns of the people who are being cheated by Chandrababu Naidu by constantly dodging the implementation of welfare schemes on one pretext or the other.

“The anti-incumbency factor has set in too fast within six months as Chandrababu Naidu has deceived farmers, women, youth and pensioners by evading to fulfill his poll promise and people are looking towards a suitable plank to raise their dissent and we should be with them and take up their cause,” he said on the opening day of the two-day district Party review meeting here on Friday.
People are fed up with Chandrababu Naidu’s governance and he has been on a spree of telling one lie after another in a cover up bid and has proved to be a total failure as he has deceived all sections of people. “We have to chalk out a mass contact programme and highlight the failures of TDP Government and voice people’s concerns at all available forums. Being with the people and fighting for their cause is one part of future programme while strengthening the Party at all levels is the other issue we have to address,” he said.
The difference of votes polled between our Party and TDP is just 5 lakhs, while we were won1.30 crore votes, TDP secured 1.35 crore votes. Chandrababu Naidu could tell the blatant lie that he would waive the farm loans of Rs 87,000 crore in full, knowing very well that it is impracticable. We could not tell that lie and we believe in credibility and service to the people. The other factor which summed up to the 5 lakh vote margin is the Modi factor which worked in urban areas.
You may fool people only once. They may believe the false promise of loan waiver only once and the Party will be rejected immediately after the first term. “But YSRCP wants to usher in a real welfare state and it should be winning the hearts of the people for six terms. We want to emulate YSR who is being adored by all sections of people,” he said.
“After coming to power Chandrababu Naidu is running for cover when asked about the poll promises. The loan waiver has come a cropper along with waiver of DWACRA loans. Pensioners are badly hit with meager budgetary allocations and the promise of job or unemployment stipend did not come through. When pointedly asked in the Assembly the Chief Minister has said that he never promised to give government jobs. If it is employment in the private sector, where is the need for Chandrababu Naidu?
With such double standards, Chandrababu Naidu has been governing the State with a series of blatant lies and anti-people policies.
We have to highlight the failures of the State and go to the people and be with them at all times and in the hour of crisis.
“As far as organizational structure and its strengthening are concerned we have to learn from the past mistakes and build it with commitment. People are with us and we are with the people which will help the Party in the long run,” he said and sought suggestions from the cadre and leaders on various issues.
