Kakumanu, Guntur: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused state chief minister N Chandrbabu Naidu of not doing anything in the last four years for the farmers and also general public. Speaking at an informal interactive get together with the farmers here in Guntur district, he alleged that the TDP government as failed to provide water for irrigation.

Comparing Chandrababu with Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the YSRCP Chief questioned while KCR was lifting water from all quarters, why wasn't AP CM able do anything to provide water to the farm lands. "Our the last four years did any crop farmer get minimum support price (MSP?"

The Opposition Leader pointed out the truth was that the TDP chief himself had turned into a middleman and started the Heritage company. He said it was such an unfortunate situation that opposition leader had to come to Guntur Mirchi Yard to protest against the government's negligence to the farmers. YS Jagan informed that during Chandrababu's rule sugar factories in Chittoor district as well as the dairy industry of Ongole have been shut down, and nothing more had been achieved.

YSRCP President asserted that in the name of loan waiver, Chandrababu has cheated the state to the amount of Rs 87,000 crores. It was not clear if the farmers got the gold which they had pledged in the banks, but they had got the banks notices for sure, he commented. YS Jagan told that since the TDP government was not repaying the bank loan amounts, that were given to the farmers, the financial institutions were not ready to give fresh loans to the farmers. He declared that once YSRCP comes to power, Rs 4000 crores will be allocated for the farm sector to face any aftermath of natural disasters.

"The state which claimed to have abundant power has never been able to give nine hours of free electricity supply to the farmers, they are barely managing to give for seven hours. We are told even that power supply is during the nights," he told the huge gathering of farmers.

YS Jagan spelled out his party's plans for the farmers after they come to power. He promised that they would give nine hours of free power during the day time; provide interest free loans for farming; would give Rs 12,500 per acre as a seed capital during the May month; free bore-wells would be dug up for the farmers; give MSP; and establish cold storage units as well as food processing units.

The Opposition Leader mentioned that they would reopen the cooperative dairy units as soon as they come to power and government would provide Rs 4 per liter of milk as a bonus. He promised to complete all the pending projects and help the growth of the farm sector in the state. He concluded by saying that YSRCP would also address the problems of the prawn breeding industry in Nellore.
