Hyderabad: Terming chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as the 'Father Of Belt Shops', YSRCP MLA RK Roja said the CM himself promoted belt shops in the state and his promise of closing all belt shops within a month is ridiculous.
Addressing the media here on Monday, she said the chief minister had signed a order three years ago to close down all belt shops. "No action was taken since three years. How can he claim that all belt shops will be closed within a month," She asked. Chandrababu Naidu sprang into action on the issue of belt shops only after YS Jagan's speech at the YSRCP plenary in Guntur, she said and added that the she herself will lead a movement to destroy all belt shops if no action is taken within 10 days by the state government.
Every welfare scheme announced by the chief minister in 2014 was either ignored or changed to benefit the TDP cadre, she said. For instance, DWCRA women did not get loan waiver and the fate of NTR Srujala Sravanthi programme finds no mention in any of the CM's speeches, she pointed out. The construction of the state secretariat smacks of corruption and commissions and the leaky roofs in the new campus are proof of it, she pointed out.
