Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party Spokespersons Botsa Satyanarayana and Parthasarathy criticised Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu here today for accepting the Special Package granted by the centre to the state. They said that Chandrababu was now trying to portray that only TDP was working for the welfare of the state.

Speaking to the media, they said that Chandrababu was the culprit number 1 for Special Category Status (SCS) not being granted to the state. YSRCP Spokesperson Parthasarathy demanded that the memorandums submitted to the Prime Minister Modi during his 29 visits to New Delhi should be made public. He accused that the AP CM never spoke about Polavaram project to the NDA government but he travelled 10 times to Nagpur to change the contractors.

Parthasarathy alleged that even at the last meeting with PM on January 12, Chandrababu never talked about SCS to AP, "but discussed about Special Package." He recalled that on earlier occasions many have got their demands fulfilled by submitting resignations. It was surprising why Chandrababu was not taking any steps towards this, he said.

YSRCP Spokesperson called upon the party cadre, intellectuals, students, youth and party supporters to come forward and participate in the relay hunger strikes to be conducted in all the mandal headquarters of the state in support to the indefinite hunger strike to be taken up by the YSRCP MPs in New Delhi from April 6.

Botsa Satyanarayana said that SCS was the panacea for the state. He called upon the TDP MPs join hands with YSRCP and submit resignations. The centre would climb down and might yield to the demand of granting SCS to AP if 25 MPs resign, he said and added that otherwise TDP would have to face drubbing in the next elections.
