Chandrababu cuts cake, launches Smart Village programme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu celebrated the New Year in Vijayawada on Thursday.

He cut the cake at the water resource department and extended his greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Several ministers, MPs, MLAs, officials and local VIPs greeted Chandrababu on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, he performed special pujas at the lord Venkateswara temple at Labbipeta.
He arrived the city on Wednesday evening by a special flight and stayed at the state guest house.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Chandrababu said he would begin smart village programme from January 18. " We will take all the steps to provide pensions to the old-age people at their homes and we will make sure they will not face any troubles," he said.
