Rajahmundry: Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar has criticized the Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on the issue of Polavaram project. Speaking to media here today, he has alleged that the TDP government is spreading lies about the project works.

“The centre has clearly stated in the past that it was handing over the project works to the state government, which has requested for the same. But the ruling party is now denying that the government has sought the project works from the centre,” the former MP mentioned.

“Chandrababu has been compromising on the Polavaram issue from the beginning. Why did Chandrababu take up the works of a national project? After announcing that the government has handed over the works to Navayuga for a low cost, why is Chandrababu blaming Nitin Gadkari for the same now” Undavalli asked.

The former Rajahmundry MP also said that the TDP government had not started the Polavaram project till 2016. “How long will the chief minister continue to cheat the people of the state? Why should the AP government spend money on the national project?” he asked.
