Chaddi Banian Gang On the Prowl in Hyderabad

A few days ago, a WhatsApp message was in circulation cautioning the residents of Kukatpally and surrounding areas about the chaddi gang.

Hyderabad: An inter-state gang named "chaddi banian gang" has created panic among the denizens of Hyderabad. A video of the gang went viral on the social media a few days ago.

The gang members show no mercy on people when they strike a house. They ruthlessly kill people and take away belongings. A few days ago, a WhatsApp message was in circulation cautioning the residents of Kukatpally and surrounding areas about the chaddi gang.

According to the police, the chaddi gang members are notorious and most wanted criminals in in Bihar and Maharashtra states and various other cities of North India. The gang comprising six members mostly target independent houses.

Now, the gang is seen wandering in localities under Medchal police station limits during night hours. The police said that the gang had already struck at three places in the city. In a fresh incident, the chaddi gang tried a vain bid to gain entry into a house at Ghatkesar. This was recorded by the CCTV cameras placed on the street.

Meanwhile, the police is creating awareness with the help of visuals. The police urged the residents to inform them if they spot any suspicious looking people in their localities.

The Cyberabad police has launched a manhunt to nab the culprits of the chaddi banian gang. The police from the Kukatpally and Miyapur divisions conducted searches in colonies and have collected details of unidentified persons. Two ACPs, four Inspectors, 13 sub-inspectors and 75 constables from the Kukatpally and Miyapur divisions, participated in the raids. Mr N. Bhujanga Rao, ACP, Kukatpally, said that the raids were conducted in the Gokul flats area and labour camps, as per news reports.
