Center Releases Pending Bonus for Employees

New Delhi: Central government brought cheers to it’s employees. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday announced that the government will release bonus soon which has been pending for 2 years.

With this decision nearly 33 lakh employees are going to be benefited.

“The bonus entitlement for 2014-15 and 2015-16 will be released on the revised norms for central government employees. This was pending for two years. After this, the bonus will be covered under the 7th Pay Commission,” Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters on Tuesday.

The employees will get bonus for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16 as per the revised norms. After this, the bonus will be covered under 7th pay commission.

Further, Jaitley said the government will write to all states regarding compliance of contract workers law. The registration of the contract workers and their staffing agencies is mandatory as per law and states will be advised to strictly implement the same. The issue of giving social security benefit to the unorganised sector (e.g., Anganwadi, Mid-day meal, Asha, Volunteers etc.) will be examined by a committee which will give its report at the earliest, Jaitley said.
