Cellphone explosion brings down house, kills man

Madanapalle(Chittoor): In a bizarre incident, a house collapsed and a person died allegedly due to the explosion of a cellphone in Madanapalle town of Chittoor district on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Subramanyam and the incident occurred in the Gauthami Nagar Colony. They said there were no signs of a cylinder or bomb explosion at the spot and the house must have caved in due to the explosion of the cellphone. Subramanyam's daughter in law Annapurna, was not present at the time of the mishap.

However, the locals strongly feel that the house could not have come down merely due to the cellphone blast. They said Subramanyam was into black magic and suspect his rivals may have brought down the house to kill him.
The police are investigating.
