CBI Questions KCR Over ESI Buildings

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has questioned the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in an investigation related to low quality construction of Employees State Insurance (ESI) hospitals when he was a Union Minister in 2006.The contract for such buildings is generally given to the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC), a central government undertaking. However, the Ministry of Labour under KCR allotted the contract to an executive engineer of the then Andhra Pradesh Fisheries Department.
