CAT Preparation Blunders To Avoid

Candidates seeking admission into IIM and other Business schools have to undergo the Common Admission Test (CAT), which will be held in third or fourth week of November 2018.

Many of the candidates have already started their preparation to chase the IIM dream. The exam is conducted by one of the IIM's in India and the notification for the exam will be released in August 2018.

Every year, around 2 lakh people appear for the exam for about 2000 seats in IIM.

Considered the toughest of all entrance exams, the candidates must avoid mistakes to succeed in the exam.

Here we bring you five common mistakes which should be avoided during the exam:

Ignoring the Time Table

A well-planned time table always helps the candidates to find out the topics covered. It is advised that aspirants follow a strict time table either weekly or monthly.

Rounded by study materials

It happens with many students. They surround themselves with a number of study materials so as to not to miss any topics. This usually results in complication. Hence limiting the material to a minimum and following the syllabus is the best practice to do.

Conceptual clarity

Doubts on the chapters can be cleared by group discussion. Formulas and short cut methods will greatly help in solving the problems, this also minimizes your time on one question.

CAT model papers

Even after thorough preparation, many of the students will not be successful. Solving model papers and previous question papers will help manage time and also to give the aspirant quick problem solving skills.

Last minute rush

This is one of the most important things to remember. CAT is long time preparation and the last minute preparation might not help the aspirant.

Keeping the above tips in mind, one could have a good chance to crack the exam with a good percentile.
